HP released its first two public cloud services for beta, and they're based in part on the open-source OpenStack rule. The services, HP Fog up Compute and HP Cloud Object Storage are open for registration and employ is free. The news certainly helps validate that OpenStack project, but it’s too early to know whether HP makes it as a public fog up provider.

The new services aim to compete directly with other developer-focused cloud services like Amazon Web Services together with Rackspace, which leads this OpenStack project.
